Adoptable Pets of the Week - The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Banjo the Dog

He may only have three legs but that's not going to stop him from trying. Banjo has so many wonderful qualities, but he just doesn't seem to believe in himself. He has a shy, quiet, "please-take-care-of-me" kind of personality. And in fact, he does rely on the comfort of other dogs to help him feel safe and secure. Thank goodness being a "tri-paw" doesn't seem to bother him.

When he arrived at Best Friends, he was malnourished, sick and starving for attention. His situation was desperate. Caregivers thought he seemed quite depressed. But with loving care, medical treatment and a healthy diet, he is starting to come out of his shell. What he really needs is a patient person to love him unconditionally. Right now, caregivers are hand-feeding him, to help him gain trust. The perfect forever family would continue these kinds of activities, to further coax him out.

And the rewards are touching. He's started doing "fly-bys" with his caregivers, sneaking a little kiss on their hands, just to say `thank you.' And he'll walk so politely next to you on walks.

With just a little bit of love and time, Banjo could be one of the most rewarding pets you've everhad. He's just hoping someone out there invites him home.

BANJO THE CAT

Listen to Banjo purr for a little while and you'll start to understand his name. It doesn't take long for him to start a song. He loves attention and being petted and he lets you know it. He seeks love from anywhere it might be found - new faces, old friends, other felines or even palling around with the pooches. Banjo is brimming with love for everyone!

Banjo lived with a rescue group in Texas. But adoptions had slowed down, intake was up and resources were stretched. And poor Banjo's odds of being adopted there were slim because he has feline immunodeficiency virus, FIV.

You certainly wouldn't guess that by looking at him, or listening to him. He has no visible signs of the condition, plus FIV+ cats can live long healthy lives (for more information see this article "FIV: Catching a Bad Case of Rumors" by Best Friends Animal Society adoption manager Kristi Littrell).

And Banjo is still quite young, born in 2009. So if you like lap cats, Banjo will gladly take that spot for years to come.

Now With 1.5M Lessons, ShowMe Launches v2.0 To Bring Khan Academy To The Masses

Screen shot 2012-03-08 at 3.13.43 AMOver the last year or so, we've seen an auspicious rise in the number of startups looking to tackle those seemingly intractable problems in both K-12 and higher education. One of these startups, the New York City-based ShowMe, found some early financial validation from an impressive set of investors, raising $800K last August from the likes of Lerer Ventures, SV Angel, betaworks, Learn Capital, and angel investor Naval Ravikant. Those familiar with Khan Academy -- the startup that offers an impressive web library of videos on everything from arithmetic and physics to finance and history to let students learn at their own pace -- will likely find it easy to understand ShowMe's appeal. The startup is taking a bottom-up approach to the Khan Academy model.

Cylon First Contact ( Final ) Short-Fiction-Episode - Colonial Fleets

Well I decided to end it. So I can move on.

I could actually spend weeks or months on these things if I really pan out the idea or thought of story. I got or have ideas constantly that I cant keep up with, and trying to learn it all at the same time.

On Vimeo ATM
-- hoping it would help the compression effect as on UTUBE.

http://vimeo.com/37990634

Enjoy

I know its not wow, amazing, but it is bout the best I can do in a short span.

I am also still trying to get a good fast paced look. Eludes me.
Considering others seen, I think massive scenes, with many objects and parts
all animated, added effects, sound and very short clips is key to that.

That requires, a lot of prep time for 30-60 frames, but when you see things for just seconds, it makes you want to see more I reckon.

History

I was spending a few days going over some of the great models of BSG I have that were shared by others,
whom I thank every-time I can, for doing so.

Was retexturing, re doing materials and selection tags, trying to make them less toonish or specular.
And an idea formed.

I am from era of TOS Battlestar- and the show and its themes have stuck to me. Am still waiting on season 2 !!!!

So, now and then I make a mini episode of my own to make up for that lost season....
