Life is full of ups and downs that result into a lot of stress. Yoga is one of the most effective ways to drain out the stress. This exercise is one of the Hindu traditions that was being done to connect the body and mind to their spirituality. It began around thirty centuries ago, but it has now developed, and it involves a lot of activities, and it has many more benefits.
Yoga has a lot of advantages especially health wise. It reduces back pain, stress and depression. There are many types of these exercises, but all the physical ones are known as hatha yoga. The physical movement helps the body and mind to connect.
The other type is bikram, which is practiced in rooms that have a temperature of about thirty five degrees. It assists a person to focus on stamina and purification. There is also the Kundalini which is done with an objective of wakening energy in life; it uses different postures and breathing techniques.
Iyengar is another type which involves the use of blankets, mats and chairs. It helps the participant align the poses. Other than those there is also restorative exercise, which involves just being calm for some few minutes. It is the most common exercise.
There are also different postures when exercising like the corpse. The participant takes the position of a sleeping person. This helps to relax and refreshes both body and mind, it relieves stress and anxiety. There is also another posture known as head to knee which improves flexibility. The other posture is half shoulder stand it induces relaxation, improves blood circulation and promotes proper thyroid function.
There are plenty of benefits from these exercises, but for the participant to get a lot of benefits he or she should practice regularly. Regular practice increases the well being as well as reducing stress and anxiety. It also helps to improve mental clarity, and the participant can even sleep better. The other overall benefits are improvement on flexibility, strength, stamina and balance.
There are various equipments that are required and they include a sticky mat. It is usually laid down as the participant is meditating. It helps to mark the participants territory to avoid disturbance. It also serves another purpose as a cushion against the hard floor.
They are also cheap, and they do not require a lot of equipment, what is needed is a mat and some fitting, comfortable clothing those are the essentials although for iyengar exercises, there are additional equipments which, are required. Yoga exercises are very fruitful, and they are simple but all participants should be disciplined.
The purpose of yoga exercises varies according to the person using the techniques. Common uses are yoga for beginners and yoga poses for weight loss.
