What I Would Do For MLM Lead Generation If I Were New?

I?m often asked by new distributors what MLM lead generation strategies I would focus on if I were starting out today. Leads, as all of us marketers know, are the fuel for our marketing engines.

So let?s see if I can answer that question in today?s post. If I were brand new, if I had no presence on the Internet yet, no following, no list, no customers, no credibility?no one knew my name yet?what would I do, specifically, to get leads?

Now, first off, keep in mind that MLM lead generation means nothing if you don?t know how to convert those leads into customers and sales for your business! Successful network marketing is about TWO things.
?
1. Generate leads.
?
2. Convert those leads into sales.
?
One is utterly useless without the other, that?s the first thing you?ve got to remember. That being said, how would I personally go about each of these two if I were new, knowing what I know now?
?
Let?s look at that next.

How To Get Started Generating Leads Today

?

To generate sufficient leads for your business you should use some form of paid advertising.
?
Ads on Bing, for instance, are what we call PPC ads. PPC stands for pay-per-click ? simply put, you pay when people click on your ad. (See video above.)

Facebook ads is a form of social PPC. Then there?s banner ads and YouTube ads and solo ads and PPV (pay per view), and all sorts of other ads.
?
Free ads like Craigs List and classified ads, in my experience, are rarely effective for MLM lead generation. Hey, you get what you pay for!
?
Marketing strategies that aren?t actual ads will generally also not produce results as quickly. I?m primarily thinking of ?content marketing?, some examples of which would be article marketing, videos, blogging and press releases.
?
You can get very high quality leads with these methods, but they may take months to build to the point where you?re getting consistent results.
?
So again, I recommend you pick a marketing strategy that has the potential to produce quick lead flow. I would probably go with either Bing, Facebook PPC, YouTube ads or PPV, depending on the nature of my offer. (If for example you?re selling an eBook you?ve got a different ?offer? than if you?re selling a business opportunity.)

How To Get Your Prospects To Buy

While using one or two paid MLM lead generation strategies, I would at the same time start working on building trust and establishing credibility by consistently publishing new content and by building relationships on the social networks.

The primary purpose of social media and content marketing is to help convert your leads into customers and reps/members for your MLM business. That?s right, we?ve now gotten the second part of our two-step success formula: 1. Generate leads; 2. Convert leads.
?
When your prospects google your name (which people do, believe me!), you?ll want them to FIND something. Something of value. Some content you?ve created (or outsourced), which helps builds trust and establishes you as an expert, an authority and a leader.
?
Because of course people only buy from those that they know, like and trust.
?
The added benefit of content advertising and social media marketing (although not their main purpose) is that they, over time, also help with MLM lead generation, especially as you start employing powerful ?back linking software? such as Magic Submitter that will help you get lots of Google love.

MLM Lead Generation: The Bottom Line

Got more time on your hands than you?ve got money for advertising? Love to write and make videos? Got your mind set on ranking on Google? I would do some of each. I would use some form of paid advertising but I would also blog and shoot videos, for the reasons explained above. Focusing exclusively on MLM lead generation is a big mistake ? which many make, I should add.

Content marketing and social media are essential to building trust with prospects and must not be neglected.
?
Whatever you decide to do for MLM lead generation, don?t jump around from one strategy to the next but create a solid 6-month plan that you follow to a tee. Because when it comes to producing and converting leads, massive action, focus and consistency are ultimately what?s going to win the day.
